We took advantage of the lovely weather and booked a river cruise down the Danube to the Greek inspired temple - Walhalla. Built in 1830, Walhalla, located just down the road from our hometown of Regensburg, is a hall of fame that honors distinguished Germans - politicians, sovereigns, scientists and artists. The interior of the temple displays 65 plaques and 130 busts, covering 2,000 years of history.
Getting ready to board the "Helga"
It was a little bright out, but we loved the view! See the temple on the hill in the background?
At the bottom of the hill - there are like a gazillion steps we climbed to reach the top. We even bumped into a flock of sheep on the way.
Katharine with the bust of Katharina of Russia in the temple.
Aaron with the statue of Walhalla's founder - King Ludwig I
At the top.
Great views!
