Beyond Travel and Classes
Activities outside of the classroom provide opportunities for spiritual growth in the practical application of truth learned in the classroom. Students will be encouraged to utilize their gifts in serving others during their semester abroad. Here are some practical ways in which students have been involved in service during their AMBEX semester:
- Involvement in AMBEX' University Outreach
- Attending and serving at the Evangelical Student Union (ESG)
- Weekly Bible Study Leadership
- AMBEX Chapel Worship Leadership
- Involvement in our local church’s coffee house student ministry
- Involvement in our local church's HELP ministry assisting single moms
- Involvement in the Sunday-soccer league through the local church's in Regensburg
- Outreach opportunities through mission trips to Eastern Europe
- Outreach opportunities through assisting various German missionaries in their ministries
- Relational outreach through the Regensburg Student Inn
Local Church Involvement
AMBEX partners with the Lifestream Church in Regensburg. While at AMBEX, students have the opportunity to get involved with outreach, worship, preaching, retreats etc. It's a wonderful place to meet German believers, worship & grow together spiritually, and make life-long friends.
Beyond Regensburg
Students will have the option of accompanying local missionaries on mission trips during their AMBEX semester, and/or staying in their homes and helping with their ministries. These week-long trips allow students to minister to Eastern Europeans, American soldiers, Young Life Europe, orphans, gypsies and more. These trips really give students a unique insight into the European mission field, and the lives of European missionaries.

Community Service
A great way to meet Germans and share Christian love is through serving in the local community. The Regensburg HELP ministry to single moms, Evangelical Student Union, Regensburg Youth Hostel, and coffee house ministry are just a few ways in which you can get involved in the lives of the locals.
