We set out from Wittenberg toward Eisenach making one stop along the way in Erfurt to visit the Augustinian Monestary where Luther spent his time as a (at the time still Catholic) monk. The students learned about the monks' cold, harsh and austere lives and the factors that led Luther's revelations concerning scripture and the Church. Also on the agenda in Erfurt was a visit to the magnificent Mariendom where Luther was ordained.
