A look at AmbEx's first week

This first week at AmbEx has been a busy, exciting one! Students arrived in Nuremberg airport on Friday and Saturday and were quickly acquainted with Eastern Bavaria An Amberg city tour led by the Host Nation Coordinator, Frau Gail Bogdanow, introduced the students to the walled city.

On Sunday, students and staff caravaned 30 km north of Amberg where we worshiped at High Point Baptist Church http://www.hpbc.com/. HPBC is located in Vilseck, just a short distance from a large US military population. Dr. Ed Hindson, Assistant Chancellor at Liberty University and author of "Global Warning", was the guest Sunday School teacher and preacher during the main service http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ed_HindsonAfter. Following the service or "Gottesdienst", our AmbEx cohort had a hearty meal at a Country Inn specializing in traditional German cuisine. AmbEx students were invited by the Chaplain's office and youth outreach organization, Club Beyond, to the Vilseck military installation, where they had the chance to go bowling and learn about ministry opportunities available on post. http://www.mcym.org/

Following a traditional German breakfast/buffet and devotional, school officially started at 0900 hrs. Monday, January 21, 2008. We praise the Lord for answered prayer, safe travel, and a solid start.
