Neuschwanstein Castle

Schwangau, Germany

The day started early as the students boarded the 0844 train departing the Regensburg, Hauptbahnhof (main train station) heading for Füssen, Germany. On this 4 hour (one-way) train ride students have the “privilege” J  to do some much needed studying for the up and coming worldview class with Dr. Allen Jones from Corban University.

For the most part we try to make travelling by train and bus as fun as possible. With these AMBEXers its easy!

Here it's a must-do to take the traditional AMBEX jump shot in front of the Wittelsbach family home.

Behind these fantastic four rests Neuschwanstein. The massive and impressive castle nestled in the world-famous Alps provides a picturesque backdrop for our AMBEXers from The Master's College.

At this location lies the famed “Disneyland castle” Neuschwanstein. A castle built for the last king of Bavaria, King Ludwig, it was built to his exact specification. An incredible amount of detail, planning, and labor went into building this masterpiece, so much so that his bedframe alone took 14 wood-carvers and 4 years to complete.

After this calm and happy group picture we all raced down the icy slopes, like mad men, to catch our castle tour that was set to begin in about 15 minutes. We slipped and slid our way through the front gate just in time... even if a few of us were a little late getting through the already shut doors. :)

We finished the day with the long train ride back and passed time getting to know each other through travel-question games, Chase Silver's personality assessment test (what's your favorite color... :)), and Döner Kebabs on the fly for chow. All in all a good day on the tracks.
